NTABAZINDUNA – A total of 1,001 police recruits have graduated from the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Ntabazinduna Police Academy after completing a year-long initial training programme.
The graduation parade for Intake 01 of 2025 was held at the academy on Friday, with the recruits comprising 694 males and 307 females.
The ceremony marked the first graduation held at Ntabazinduna Police Academy and the third police graduation conducted in the country this year.
During their training, the recruits undertook courses covering Criminal Law, Police Duties and Investigation, National Strategic Studies, Civic Education, Emergency Response and Counter-Insurgency, among other subjects.
The newly graduated officers will now be deployed to police stations across the country to begin their duties.
Officiating at the graduation ceremony, Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Minister Kazembe Kazembe urged the recruits to remain vigilant and uphold their duty to protect communities.
“As you leave this training base, go and carry out your duties diligently. The country is facing many rape cases; you must focus on dismantling drug syndicates and cartels, and saving the lives of our young and innocent citizens,” he said.
Minister Kazembe commended the graduates for their resilience and courage throughout the demanding training programme, saying their graduation demonstrated their commitment to serving the country.
“The graduates have shown resilience and courage in their dedication to serving Zimbabwe – for the law, for the country and for the people,” he said.
The graduation adds to ongoing efforts by the police to strengthen its human resources base and enhance law enforcement and public safety across the country.
