Harare (New Ziana) – Active cases of Covid-19 in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe’s second largest city, have come down to just two following the recovery of five more patients, the Ministry of Health and Child Care said on Saturday.

The new recoveries in Bulawayo bring the total to 23 nationwide, from 56 confirmed cases.

For Bulawayo alone, nine patients have recovered from a total of 12 cases recorded so far while one patient died.

Other recoveries recorded in the country so far include nine in Harare, four in Mashonaland East Province and one in Matabeleland North.

Meanwhile, the Ministry said a total of 1426 tests were carried out countrywide on Saturday, and none came out positive.

“To date the total number of confirmed cases remains at 56, recovered 23, active cases 29 and 4 deaths since the onset of the outbreak on 20 March 2020,” the Ministry said.

The Ministry said of the active cases, Harare has the most with 13 patients, Mashonaland East two, Mashonaland West four, Midlands four, Masvingo one and Matabeleland South three.
