IN what can only be described as a devastating turn of events, the Mwazha dynasty faces yet another tragedy following the passing of Bishop Alfred Kushamisa Mwazha of the African Apostolic Church on March 17, 2026.
Just months after the loss of his father, Archbishop Paul Mwazha, the family and their devoted community are left grappling with profound sorrow. Bishop Alfred Mwazha was the second-born son of the late Archbishop.
Rev. Kasima expressed the sentiments of many when he confirmed the death of Bishop Mwazha, who passed away at the age of 80.
“Our hearts are heavy, but we must come together to support one another during these trying times.”
The Mwazha family, respected leaders within the African Apostolic Church, have already endured the heart-wrenching loss of Archbishop Mwazha, who passed away on November 20, 2025, at the age of 107.
This latest loss has plunged the congregation into mourning as they bid farewell to a beloved leader who dedicated his life to serving his faith and community with unwavering resolve.
Bishop Mwazha, born in June 1946, exemplified the teachings of Christ through his passionate preaching and deep theological understanding. He mentored countless individuals and held a special place in the hearts of those he served. His leadership was characterised by warmth, charisma, and unwavering devotion to the church’s mission.
The recent tragedies have shaken the foundations of the Mwazha dynasty, leaving many to wonder how the family and the church will navigate this painful chapter.
As the Mwazha family mourns, the church community continues to rally around them, offering prayers and support in hopes of finding comfort amid the darkness. Hymns that once echoed with joy now resonate with a sense of loss, yet they also remind the faithful of the deep legacy left by both Archbishop and Bishop Mwazha.
While the Mwazha dynasty faces another heart-wrenching loss, the strength of their community shines through. Together, they seek solace and healing, hoping that the love and teachings of their departed leaders will guide them through this tumultuous period.
