CCC pockets 9 Masvingo urban seats

THE Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has collected the majority council seats in the Masvingo City Council with Zanu PF collecting only one seat compared to three seats in 2018.
The wards that CCC won are Ward 1, which went to Sabina Chikwangwani, who was declared duly member of council with 1493 votes.
Nabioth Magwizi of Zanu PF had 1 362, Marita Edmond, an independent polled 316, Matafini Regis of ZZPP seven, Paradza Justen of DUZ 15, and Vengai Hove of NCA had 60 votes
Ward 2 went to Shantel Chiwara who polled 2 287 votes.
Benson Hwata of Zanu PF polled 1 304, Anderson Paradza of MDC T 21, and Charity Shoko of DUZ had 17 votes.
In Ward 3, Maxwell Madhuna had 1686 votes.
Taurayi Mudzviti of Zanu PF polled 946, Emily Vhikai of MDC T had 25 and Pedzisai Zvirevo of ZZPP had seven votes.
In Ward 4, Aleck Tabe polled 2 213 votes.
Tolbert Nyanyiwa of Zanu PF had 872, Mary Dhungwaza of DUZ had 59, Nyasha Ngira of MDC T had 45, Sydney Chinhondo ZZPP had 33 and Jorum Gundumure had 21 votes.
Daniel Mberikunashe retained his seat in Ward 5 with 1652. Priciler Kambarami of Zanu PF polled 868, Ephanos Makiwa of MDC T had 51 and Chiedza Garwi of DUZ had 36 votes.
In Ward 6, Wilfstaff Sitimere polled 2 563 votes.
Muzozviona Trust of Zanu PF had 1 121 votes and Mafodya Masimba of ZZP had 42 votes.
In Ward 7 Tafara Masimba polled 2 041 votes while Tafadzwa Majoni of Zanu PF had 814, Prosper Mataruse of MDC T had 20 and Caiphas Nyambira of UZA had 21 votes.
Richard Musekiwa won the Ward 8 council seat.
In Ward 9, former councillor, Against Chiteme, lost to Bernard Muchokwa who had 2 018 while he garnered 915 vote. Amos Ngonyamo of MDCT had 23 votes.
Meanwhile, Sengerai Manyanga of Zanu PF retained his Ward 10 seat after polling 2 081 votes against Alan Moyo of CCC who had 1 271.
