Harare, (New Ziana) –The Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT) has launched a census monitoring mobile application to provide the public with easy access to data for planning purposes.

ZIMSTAT is the main source of official statistics in Zimbabwe. It was established by the Census and Statistics Act of 2007 and is responsible for collecting, collating, analysing and disseminating data on various matters.

In a statement, ZIMSTAT said the Executive Monitoring Mobile App is designed to provide easy access to census data for effective planning and decision-making.

“This innovative application enables policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders to monitor and analyse Zimbabwe’s census data effortlessly,” ZIMSTAT said, adding that it provides census data disaggregated by provinces, districts, gender, urban and rural areas and age groups.

Members of the public can download the app on Google Play Store and have it installed on their mobile phones, allowing them to access census data easily with data visualization, interactive charts and tables for better analysis.

The app guarantees the public reliable and official information that is accurate directly from ZIMSTAT, making for a user-friendly interface with the statistics body.
