Chinhoyi mourns breast cancer

CHINHOYI – THE town was left in shock following the death of a much-loved civil servant, who worked at the Civil Registry Department under Ministry of Home Affairs.

The beautiful and ever smiling Abigail Mlilo Govere (39), who always went the extra mile in assisting people at the Passport Office, succumbed to breast cancer on Friday in Chinhoyi.

Govere family spokesperson, Method Tapera, confirmed Mrs Govere’s death.
Her husband, Simbarashe Govere, posted on his Facebook account about her death and condolence messages flooded most social media platforms in Chinhoyi.

“It is with a broken heart that I announce the passing away of my wife and dear friend Abigail Mlilo Govere. She passed on after a brave and courageous battle with breast cancer,” said Govere.

Hilary Chakwizira was heartbroken by the death of the dedicated civil servant, who died of breast cancer during the breast cancer awareness month.

Floride Mukono, in a condolence message described Mrs Govere as a kind-hearted person.

“May you find comfort in the Holy Spirit Sir? Heaven has surely gained an angel.

“Eish I’m sorry brother. It pains, I know but God is always there for you. My deepest condolences. May you find peace and comfort in Jesus Christ? Our words are not going to comfort you, asi tinoisa Minamato. Mwari vanokunyorevesa ndiye musiki ndiye anoronga …. Amen,” said Mukono.

Sons and daughters of Chinhoyi Facebook page had over 700 condolence messages within two hours of the death notice being posted.

Her husband, Simbarashe, and four children, Ruth (7), Emmanuelle (5) and 21-month-old twins, Emanuel and Anita, survive Govere.
