Double trouble for a Binga man……as he was found with Imbanje and snares.

A police tip off opened a can of worms for a Binga man who was found with
imbanje at his homestead garden in Pashu village under Chief Pashu.

The accused, Million Munkombwe aged 42 was arrested for two counts which
include being in a possession of dagga and possession of snares.

According to the Matabeleland North Police Spokesperson Inspector Glory
Banda the arrest of Munkombwe followed a tip off they received.

“Police in Matebeleland North would like to acknowledge the arrest of Million
Munkombwe a male aged 42 from Chief Pashu, he was found in possession of
197 plants of Dagga Plants measuring at least 27 cm tall each.

“He was also found in position of 93 class one snares following a tip off, the
police in Kamativi approached the accused person which led them to recover
the dagga plants in his home garden and the snares in his granary.”

Munkombwe appeared before the Hwange Magistrate courts, Dete Circuit on
October 16, where he pleaded guilty to the two offences and was remanded in
custody to October 25 awaiting sentence.

Munkombwe indicated that he used the snares to catch guinea fowls, rabbits and
bush bucks.

Meanwhile, police have urged members of the public to desist from drug abuse
activities as the country is battling in the fight against drug abuse.

“As police we would like to advise our valid clients to desist from drug
peddling activities. Citizens should also not engage in poaching in the safari
areas, lest they lose their lives when attached buy vicious animals” said Banda
