Double trouble for Tsholotsho killer.

Share

Police in Matebeland North have launched a manhunt for a 38-year-old Tsholotsho man who allegedly murdered his wife and his octogenarian neighbour on New Year’s day.

The incident which left Mgogodleni Villagers in Tsholotsho tongue-tied was a result of Gender Based Violence (GBV which allegedly emanated from infidelity).

The province’s spokesperson, Inspector Glory Banda said the man-Shepherd Nkomo, accused his wife, Gretude Ncube, 36 of having an extra marital affair.

“There was a heated argument after the confrontation. Nkomo assaulted his wife with an unidentified object, prompting her to flee to their neighbour, Mhlanga Bahono Mkhiza, 83, for refuge. Nkomo pursued his wife and continued the assault at Mkhiza’s residence.

“When Mkhiza tried to restrain him from beating his wife, Nkomo struck him with a log on the face, causing fatal injuries that resulted in Mkhiza’s death at the scene. Ncube on the other hand died from the injuries she got from the assault. Upon realising the damage, Nkomo fled the scene and is still at large,” explained Banda.

The police is appealing from the community to assist in the man hunt and further encouraged communities to desist from violence when solving issues.
