HARARE – Dynamos Football Club and head coach Genesis Mangombe have mutually agreed to terminate their contractual relationship with immediate effect, bringing to an end a saga that had seen the club suspend the technical team over various allegations.
The mutual separation also involves assistant coaches Newsome Mutema and Tonderai Marume, as well as fitness trainer Britto Gwere.
In a joint statement released on Tuesday, Dynamos FC and the Sports and Recreation National Workers Union of Zimbabwe said the parties had engaged in good faith and agreed to an amicable separation in the interest of football.
As part of the agreement, Dynamos withdrew all allegations previously levelled against the coaches, including claims of match-fixing, the use of juju and insubordination.
The statement said the suspensions imposed on the four had been lifted before the parties signed a Mutual Separation and Release Agreement formalising the end of their employment with the club.
Following the agreement, Mangombe and his technical team have been cleared to take up coaching roles with any club of their choice.
“Dynamos FC wishes them well in their future endeavours,” the club said.
Both Dynamos FC and the Sports and Recreation National Workers Union of Zimbabwe reaffirmed their commitment to promoting the interests of the game, saying football should remain the ultimate winner.
The agreement officially closes a chapter that had generated widespread debate within Zimbabwean football and leaves Dynamos searching for a new technical team as the season progresses.
