Harare, (New Ziana) – Preparations for the 23rd Zanu PF Annual National People’s Conference, scheduled to take place in Chinhoyi, Mashonaland West province next week, are gathering momentum, with the party announcing an extraordinary Politburo meeting for Friday.
The conference will be held under the theme: “From Resolutions to Results: Consolidating Economic Development and Deepening Empowerment towards Vision 2030.”
In a statement, the party’s Secretary for Information and Publicity, Christopher Mutsvangwa, announced that the meeting would be held at the party’s headquarters.
“The Acting Secretary General, Cde Patrick Chinamasa advises all members of an Extraordinary Session of the Politburo this Friday, 9 October 2026. The meeting will be held at the Zanu PF headquarters and will begin at 1400 hours,” Mutsvangwa said.
The meeting comes against the backdrop of recent Central Committee and Politburo meetings during which Zanu PF First Secretary and President Emmerson Mnangagwa urged the party to translate resolutions adopted at its conferences into tangible results.
He said the forthcoming annual conference should provide an opportunity for the party to assess its performance, address areas requiring attention and refine its priorities.
“The conference will allow us to take stock, correct where necessary and refocus our collective Party priorities. I expect that the Resolutions and decisions formulated by our Provincial structures have been thorough, honest and rooted in the aspirations and concerns of our members and the people we serve,” President Mnangagwa said.
