Masvingo (Masvingo Star-New Ziana) – Famous Masvingo-based actor, Tinashe Nhaukarume, of the popular drama ‘Chikwambo’ is in trouble with the law after failing to pay a $250 monthly maintenance installment for his child.

Nhaukarume, (27), of 2706 5th Street, Sisk, Mucheke, faces three months in prison if he fails to fork out $250 arrears arising from a maintenance order which requires him to pay $250 every month for the upkeep of his minor child with 25-year-old Precious Muniya of Rujeko.

He was convicted on his own plea of guilt by magistrate Mbonisi Ndlovu.

It was the State case that Nhaukarume, an ex-husband to Muniya of 36375 Chivavarira Street, Rujeko, was on August 28 ordered by Masvingo Civil Court to pay $250 per month towards the maintenance of his one minor child, but defaulted.

Nhaukarume failed to make the payment for the month of September and in his defence said he was unemployed.

He was sentenced to three months in prison, wholly suspended on condition he settles the arrears.
