Fastjet Zimbabwe launches new Bulawayo–Victoria Falls flights

Harare,  (New Ziana) – Fastjet Zimbabwe has announced the launch of a new scheduled flight service connecting Bulawayo and Victoria Falls, set to commence on Friday, 8 August 2025.

The airline revealed the development in an official letter of notification addressed to Bulawayo Mayor, David Coltart and the City of Bulawayo. The new route will operate four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays offering travelers a faster and more convenient connection between Zimbabwe’s second-largest city and one of the country’s most prominent tourist destinations.

The flights will be serviced using the 50-seat Embraer ERJ145 aircraft, a regional jet known for its speed and efficiency. According to the flight schedule released by Fastjet Zimbabwe, Flight FN8101 will depart Bulawayo (BUQ) at 13:25 and arrive in Victoria Falls (VFA) at 14:20.

The return flight, FN8102, will leave Victoria Falls at 14:50 and land in Bulawayo at 15:45. In the letter dated 22 July 2025 and referenced as 1-389/JM/AM/2025, Fastjet expressed its appreciation to the Bulawayo City Council for the support that helped make the new service possible.

“Fastjet Zimbabwe is delighted to inform the City of Bulawayo of the introduction of a scheduled flight service from Bulawayo to Victoria Falls commencing Friday, 08 August 2025,” wrote Joe Mparuri, Fastjet Zimbabwe’s Accountable Manager, on behalf of the airline’s management team.

“We express our gratitude for the continued support and guidance resulting in this route launch.” The new service marks a significant development in Zimbabwe’s domestic aviation and tourism sectors, promising to boost connectivity between key cities and support economic activity, especially in tourism and business travel.

Victoria Falls is one of Africa’s top travel destinations, and Bulawayo serves as a commercial and cultural hub, making the air link strategically valuable.

The flights are expected to appeal to both local travelers and international tourists looking to explore the country with greater ease. Previously, road or connecting flights via Harare were the primary options for those traveling between the two cities.

Fastjet Zimbabwe, headquartered at R.G. Mugabe International Airport in Harare, has continued to expand its domestic network in recent years, with this new route underscoring its commitment to improving accessibility within Zimbabwe.

The airline operates with a customer-focused approach and is known for punctual and reliable services on regional and domestic routes. The launch is expected to be welcomed by the travel industry and local businesses, as well as by residents of both Bulawayo and Victoria Falls, who now gain a direct air travel option between the two cities.
