Female murders rising

Share

WOMEN appear to be the main victims of psychopaths in Mashonaland West
Province.

This year, the number of women killed is rising with what appears to be no end in
sight as the perpetrators are yet to be accounted for.

Recently one woman was found dead in Hillside in Chinhoyi. She had been stripped
naked and left alongside the river. The matter is still being investigated.
Recently, police in Battlefields launched an investigation into a murder case of a 66-
year-old woman, found dead in her house at Village 4 Donain on October 16.

Circumstances are that, the woman’s neighbour was the one who noticed that she
was dead after she had not seen her for two days. The neighbour then decided to
check on her through the window.

It was then that the neighbour discovered the woman was inside the house. She
called out for help from the other villagers, who then opened the door.
The woman had stab wounds on the left side of her neck and on the diaphragm.
There was blood on her clothes, on her neck, which also showed signs of
strangulation, while there were marks on the floor.

The following day, October 17 there was another case in Chegutu, where woman
was again found dead at Muguti Farm.

Her body was face down and half-naked. Her head was bludgeoned suggesting she
was probably struck by a huge stone, which was found next to her head.

Alongside her body were two children – one eight months old and the other one six
years old. The woman is believed to be from Norton.

Chinhoyi recorded another case of a 42-year-old woman killed in cold blood while
trying to restrain the perpetrator from burning down her home stand. The deceased
was identified as Rachel Ncube, who lived at Village 3, Portlet Farm, Chinhoyi.

Police National Spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyati confirmed the
tragedy saying, the suspect burnt the victim’s houses before stabbing her in the
chest with a knife after she tried to refrain him from torching the houses.

Chinhoyi are appealing to the public or anyone who might know the whereabouts of
Criswell Makuvatsine Musiiwa, as well as information on the other two cases, which
could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators, to report to the nearest police station.
