Harare, (New Ziana) – Four people died in Mutare on Wednesday when a truck hurtling out of control down the Christmas Pass curve crushed them as they walked beside the road.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police national spokesperson, Commissioner Paul nyathi confirmed the accident which occurred around 12.40pm near the Vehicle Examination Depot (VED).

Three of the people died instantly while the fourth died on admission at the Victoria Chitepo Hospital. The truck first collided with four vehicles and went on to hit the four pedestrians before overturning and landing on its roof.

Separately, Comm Nyathi confirmed the arrest of Tigors Tyron Seigfried (39) who was found in possession of 1 900 grammes of Crystal Meth at a house along Chemford Road, Matshehlope, Bulawayo.
