    Gokwe man dies jump-starting car

    Gokwe, Jan 2022 (New Ziana) – A Gokwe man died, and another seriously injured, after the vehicle they were jump-starting suddenly moved and crashed them, police said on Wednesday.

    The duo stood in between two vehicles, both trucks, trying to jump-start one of them when the jump-started vehicle suddenly moved and crashed them.

    Richard Tagwirei Mamutse died on admission to Gokwe Hospital, while Milton Mangoro sustained serious injuries, and is detained at the medical facility.

    Midlands police spokesperson Emmanuel Mahoko said the incident was under investigation to establish circumstances this occurred.

    “Richard Tagwirei Mamutse (44) and Milton Mangoro were in a motor vehicle repair workshop in Chireya, Gokwe, where a Tata truck failed to start and they positioned another truck in front in an effort to jump-start it,” he said.

    “The two were trapped while jump-starting a vehicle on Monday.”
