Kwekwe (New Ziana) – A 47-year-old KweKwe man was left battling for life after being stabbed with a knife, and robbed of his vehicle by three suspected robbers in the city.

In a statement, Midlands provincial police spokesman, Emmanuel Mahoko said the attempted murder and robbery took place In Amaveni along Silobela road on 30 December 2022.

It is alleged that Bude Makundano of Amaveni in Kwekwe was sitting in his motor vehicle; a blue Nissan Titan Truck with registration number ADQ 8865, when three unknown men, armed with knives suddenly opened the doors of the vehicle.

They allegedly demanded car keys before dragging Bude out of the vehicle.

They stabbed him all over the body.

They went on to take the car keys which were in his pocket and drove away, leaving him lying on the ground.

A report was made to the police by a Good Samaritan who had found Makundano lying on the ground with intestines protruding.

Police attended the scene and rushed Makundano to Kwekwe General Hospital where he was further transferred to Gweru provincial Hospital where he is admitted, in a serious condition.

“We are appealing to members of the public with information that may lead to the arrest of the three suspects and recovery of the stolen vehicle,” Mahoko said.
