Man batters wife to death

Chinhoyi (New Ziana) – A teacher at Raffingora High School allegedly killed his wife at their rural home in Zvimba, and is the run, police have said.

In a statement, police spokesman Paul Nyathi said Sunday Marimo allegedly assaulted and killed his wife Emilia Chatiza on 24 April 2023.

The High School teacher fled the scene after allegedly battering his wife with a chair after accusing her of having extra marital affair.

He allegedly left a note explaining reasons for his actions. Nyathi said police were on the hunt for Marimo.

In a related case, police in Mashonaland East province are investigating the murder of 83-year-old Faustina Magaisa allegedly by her son, Everisto Magaisa,(49) that occurred in Wedza on Wednesday.

Everisto allegedly attacked his mother with an unknown object after accusing her of bewitching his father who died in 2017.

Everisto is also on the run.

New Ziana
