    Man in court for beating, poisoning wife

    Harare, (New Ziana) – A Silobela man has appeared before the Kwekwe Magistrates Court on charges of murder following the death of his wife.

    The court heard that on the evening of May 17th, 2024, at approximately 9:00 PM, the accused, Norest Ndhlovu Ndhlovu allegedly engaged in a violent domestic dispute with his wife.

    During the altercation, it is claimed that he assaulted her before forcefully administering a poisonous substance into her mouth.

    The victim, whose identity is being withheld, was admitted to hospital for treatment and later discharged.

    However, her condition remained precarious, and she was repeatedly hospitalized over the following months.

    Tragically, despite efforts to save her, shesuccumbed to the effects of the poison on March 4th, 2025.

    Ndhlovu was remanded in custody to April 17th, 2025.
