Lalapanzi (New Ziana) – In a shocking suspected murder case in Lalapanzi in the Midlands province, a 42-year-old man allegedly killed his brother-in-law, 52, over mangoes.

Police said the suspect, Samson Maredzva was enraged after his wife gave her visiting brother, John Munjanja, some mangoes from the family orchard.

The two men exchanged harsh words over the mango gift, and later fought, with Maredzva allegedly assaulting Munjanja with a log and brick.

Midlands provincial police spokesman, Emmanuel Mahoko said Munjanja sustained injuries from the assault, and later succumbed to them.
