    Man rapes cousin (7)

    MARONDERA- A 20-year-old man from Village 10, Dangaremombe in Chief Seke’s area is in trouble for allegedly raping his seven-year-old cousin.

    It is reported that the mater came to light on September 20 this year when the seven-year-old girl revealed the incident to her mother.

    The incident was confirmed by police spokesperson for Mashonaland East province, Inspector Simon Chazovachiyi who said investigations are ongoing.

    He said: “We received a report that on an unknown date, the minor was at home during the day when the accused person called her into his bedroom. He ordered her to sleep in his blankets and allegedly raped her once. However, she did not report the incident to anyone.

    “The suspect allegedly repeated the act on another day. He called the minor into his bedroom and raping her again. She still did not disclose the matter to anyone. The matter only came to light on September 20, when the minor finally revealed the abuse to her mother.”

    Last Monday (October 28), she accompanied her daughter to ZRP Featherstone Police Station and filed a report regarding the alleged rape. The suspect could not be located while the minor was referred to Chivhu General Hospital for medical examination.
