Harare, (New Ziana) -Tanzanian premier league football team Tabora United has announced the appointment of Zambian national Simonda Kaunda as its new head coach, replacing Zimbabwean Genesis Mangombe, whose contract was terminated by mutual agreement following a string of poor results.

Mangombe was appointed Tabora United head coach last month and during his short tenure, the team played three matches, conceding seven goals and scoring none.

According to the club statement issued on April 18 the club head of information and communication Christina Mwagala ,Mangombe’s departure comes after a review of the team’s performance.

It is not Mangombe’s first coaching stint as he recently parted ways with Dynamos Football Club and Scottland FC, now playing in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, before joining Tabora United.

The new Tabora head coach, Kaunda, is 33 years old and has the experience of coaching several clubs in Zambia, including Nkana FC, Forest Rangers FC, Chambishi FC, and Roan United FC.

Tabora United is confident that Kaunda will turn the team’s fortunes around as they push towards the end of the season of the Tanzania Mainland Premier League.
