MARONDERA– A manhunt has been launched for six suspected armed robbers whose faces and clothes appeared on Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras at Pirch farm in Goromonzi last week.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the armed robbery, saying the suspects stole US$3000 cash, various clothes, two speakers, three cellphones, laptops, jewellery, groceries and three firearms.

Commissioner Nyathi also appealed for information which may assist in the investigation.

He said the six suspects who were armed with machetes and pistols gained entry to the farm by cutting the fence at the backyard. In their mission, they first gained entry into the kitchen before attacking the farms owners.

The firearms that the suspects stole- two short guns and a pellet gun, were later recovered dumped at the backyard of the farm. The faces, and the clothing worn by the suspects were later observed on the CCTV system installed around the yard
