MUTARE-Mutasa South Member of Parliament, Advocate Misheck Mugadza has been appointed Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution in Manicaland following the reversal of the appointment of Nokuthula Matsikenyere.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa this week reversed the appointments of John Paradza and Nokuthula Matsikenyere, as they are not Members of Parliament.

Speaking briefly in an interview soon after his appointment, Minister Mugadza said he was honoured to be appointed the post and was ready to fulfil his mandate as the servant of the people.

“I am honoured and extremely humbled to have been appointed as the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution in Manicaland. I have accepted the appointment with humility,” he said.

Mugadza takes over the reins from Nokuthula Matsikenyrere who served Manicaland for the past two years following the passing on of Ellen Gwaradzimba in 2021.

Gwaradzimba, who took over from Monica Mutsvangwa in 2019 succumbed to Covid 19 complications in January 2021 leading to the appointment of then Chimanimani West legislator Matsikenyere.

Meanwhile, Chimanimani East Constituency, legislator Joshua Sacco has been appointed Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development.
