Marondera town is awakening from its deep slumber. A couple of years back, the town had only few
out-dated buildings with no modern ones.
However, in recent years, the town has witnessed massive developments which have seen the
establishment of state-of-the-art building infrastructure.
Some of the notable buildings include Buffalo 24, Spar supermarket, TM Pick n Pay and of late ZESA
Pension Fund shopping mall that is nearing completion.
Along Ruzawi Road, just adjacent Buffalo 24, there is also another massive project taking shape, with
the town expected to match other cities in the country pound for pound.
It is the establishment of the recent shopping mall that is the major talking point in the town as
Marondera is poised for better times. Shortage of office space is going to be a thing of the past, with
the imposing and breathtaking structure set to address the problem.
With the rate of developments taking place in the town, it is only a matter of time before Marondera
attains city status to join others like Harare, Mutare, Masvingo, Gweru among others.
The provision of housing is another area Marondera municipality should also be commended for as
various suburbs have emerged in recent years.
Due to its proximity to Harare, most people from the capital are opting to build houses in the town
and commute to and from their various work stations in Harare daily.
Life is relatively cheaper in Marondera as compared to Harare, hence the stampede from Harare to
Marondera, a development that will see the town developing at a faster pace than other towns in
the country.
What is only lagging behind is the establishment of a state of the art hotel in the town capable of
hosting high profile conferences.
Investors are therefore encouraged to take advantage of opportunities in Marondera to construct a
hotel.
