    Marondera Rural District Council seeks partners for ambitious stadium project in Mahusekwa

    Harare, (New Ziana) — The Marondera Rural District Council (RDC) in Mashonaland East province has invited reputable, experienced contractors and developers to partner it a landmark project to construct a 10 000-seater stadium at the Mahusekwa Growth Point.

    In a statement, the council said the proposed stadium is set to be a state-of-the-art sports and entertainment facility aimed at enhancing the infrastructure and positioning Mahusekwa as a regional sporting and cultural hub.

    The proposed Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project includes the main stadium and ancillary facilities such as parking, catering services, and security systems.

    The stadium is expected to host various sporting codes and entertainment events, contributing to the growth of local talent and stimulating economic development in the district.

    Under the PPP arrangement, the selected partner will be responsible for the design, financing, construction, operation, and maintenance of the facility.

    The local authority expects interested parties to be able to demonstrate a strong track record in similar large-scale infrastructure projects, possess adequate financial resources, be registered with relevant professional bodies and regulatory authorities as well as possess a valid tax clearance certificate is also required.

    It said the scope of the project includes full architectural and engineering design, construction of both the main stadium and support infrastructure, and long-term management services.

    Interested bidders are required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) comprising a company profile, a summary of relevant experience, an outline of the proposed methodology, and a statement of intent to partner with the Council.

    The Council emphasized its commitment to transparency and quality in the selection process, encouraging only qualified and serious bidders to apply.

    The development marks a major step in the district’s infrastructure growth and offers a rare opportunity for investment in one of the most promising Growth Points in the province.
