Share

Whange Show Society, organisers and hosts of the annual Matebeleland North Agricultural
show will be presenting a first ever Exhibitors Conference on October 5 during the prime
show.
The organisers have intensified preparations for the upcoming exhibition with about 70
percent of space already taken.
“This is the first time we are having this Exhibitors Conference, this will be a platform where
exhibitors will share notes. The exhibitors business conference will be on Thursday October
5 to provide exhibitors a platform to mix and mingle, interact and exchange business ideas
and get value for showcasing at the show.” said the marketing executive of the show,
Leonard Ncube.
Ncube said there is high interest especially from first time exhibitors for the show which will
start on October 4 and end three days later on the 7th which will be the official opening day.
“The theme for this years expo is: ‘Leveraging on our natural resources towards Vision
2030.’ The Whange Show Society and various exhibitors stakeholders will be meeting
weekly at the showgrounds in Number 2, Hwange, until the show. Work to spruce up the
image of the showgrounds continues with cleaning of the premises underway,” he said.
The organisers have set September 29 as the deadline for payment for exhibition stands and
availing of proof of payment as no payment will be received after the deadline. After this date
a late payment fee will be charged to those wishing to participate.
“This is to avoid last minute rush and disappointment in case one fails to get a stand, as this
year’s show promises to be bigger in terms of exhibitors judging by inquiries coming through”
he said.
The Matebeleland North Agricultural Show provides a platform for farmers, companies,
Government agencies and departments, NGOs, individual businesses, learning institutions
and local authorities to converge and showcase their products and services. It complements
government’s devolution and decentralisation agenda and also promotes the Matabeleland
North Provincial Development Policy Strategy which feeds into the National Agenda.
The livestock sales show is also making its way back and work is underway to rebuild pens.
The exhibition started as Wankie Show Society in 1950 and rebranded to Matabeleland
North Agricultural Show in 2019. It is affiliated to National Association of Agricultural Show
Societies of Zimbabwe (NAASSZ).
