Beitbridge— Matabeleland South Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Albert Nguluvhe has encouraged war veterans and families to consider funeral cover and proper preparation for burial expenses, saying funerals can place a heavy burden on loved ones when there is no plan in place.

Speaking during the burial of liberation war hero Andres Mutoyiwana Nguluvhe in Beitbridge, the Minister thanked the Beitbridge business community, family members, and well-wishers who assisted in giving his brother a dignified send off.

“It is expensive and difficult dealing with death and burial preparations when people are not prepared,” he said.

Minister Nguluvhe thanked the local authority for providing a grader to level the funeral venue grounds and applauded Doves Holdings for offering discounts. He also commended the Beitbridge business sector for contributing towards transporting the body from Bulawayo to Beitbridge mortuary.

“I am thankful and I appreciate the support,” he said.

The Minister also paid tribute to his late brother’s family, thanking his 12 children and 35 grandchildren for standing united during the difficult period.

“Always know that we will forever be a family and unity is what will make us conquer,” he said.

Describing the late Andres Nguluvhe as his hero, the minister revealed that his elder brother sacrificed his own education to support the family through cattle farming.

“He did not go to school so that I and other siblings could get an education. I later joined the liberation struggle in 1977 because he had led the way. His status is not because of me, he earned it,” he said.
