Bindura(Nehanda Guardian-New Ziana) –A domestic worker in Mvura, Mazowe district in Mashonaland Central province was on Monday sentenced to an effective four years for stealing a motor bike and other goods worth over ZWL$26 00 from his employer.

According to prosecutor Carson Kundiona, on October 3 this year, Davison Chirenje (62) of Galloway Farm in Mvurwi parked his Fiver motorbike in his kitchen hut before retiring to bed.

When Chirenje woke up the next morning he could not find the motor bicycle and when he went to inform his domestic worker George Muzuva about the misfortune, to his surprise he was also nowhere to be found.

Chirenje went back to the hut and discovered that besides the motor bike, 5 crates of eggs, 15 litres of petrol all valued at $26 000 were also missing.

He reported the matter at Mvurwi Police Station and during investigations police officers found the stolen bike in the possession of one Dhirau who, on being questioned, said he got it from Muzuva in exchange for a beast.

Muzuva was arrested on October 26 and he admitted that he had stolen the mentioned items.
