FEATHERSTONE — One person was killed on the spot while another sustained serious injuries after a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 ZX linked to the Mwazha family was involved in a head-on collision with a cattle-drawn scotch cart near Featherstone along the Harare-Masvingo Highway at around 8 pm last night .
The accident occurred when the Land Cruiser, which was travelling towards Harare, reportedly collided with the scotch cart while attempting to overtake.
The man who was driving the scotch cart died on the spot, while the driver of the Land Cruiser sustained serious injuries.
Ngoni Mwazha, son of the late Bishop Paul Mwazha, was reportedly travelling as a passenger in the vehicle when the accident occurred.
The Land Cruiser was gifted to the late Bishop Mwazha by businessman Wicknell Chivayo on the occasion of his 107th birthday in October 2025.
The vehicle was later reportedly transferred to his son, Ngoni.
The collision left the luxury vehicle heavily damaged.
Police were expected to provide further details on the circumstances surrounding the accident.
