    New Zimstat board appointed

    Harare, (New Ziana) – Finance and Economic Development Minister, Mthuli Ncube on Monday appointed a new board for the country’s official statistics body, the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (Zimstat) chaired by Dr Naomi Wekwete.

    Other members of the board, which will serve for three years, are Dr Florence Matarise, Evans Manjoro, Nkululeko Mkandla, Charles Chimedza, Nebson Mupunga and Innocent Madziwa.

    The previous board was chaired by Professor Dorothy Hove-Musekwa.

    Zimstat, a corporate body established through the Census and Statistics Act, is tasked with provision of timely, accurate, reliable and relevant statistics for evidence-based policy and decision making.

    It provides data on population census, social statistics, income analysis and production statistics among others.
