Mutare, (Pungwe News-New Ziana)- Police in Nyanga said on Thursday they were investigating a suspected murder case of man who was found unconscious along the Rusape-Nyanga highway.

Manicaland province police spokesperson, Inspector Tavhiringwa Kakohwa said the man died upon admission at Bonda Mission Hospital on Monday.

He identified the deceased as Tendai Katerere, aged 36. His body had cuts on the forehead and bruised arms.

Kakohwa said there were broken sticks and vehicle skid-marks at the scene.
“We are suspecting foul play and we could not get anything from the victim as he was unconscious,” he said.

He said Katerere was last seen at London business centre at night in the company of unknown men, and discovered unconscious the next morning along the Rusape-Nyanga highway.

Meanwhile, police in Mutare said they had also found a body of a man floating in Serura dam in Penhalonga.

The body was in an advanced stage of decomposition, and police are appealing to the public to help identify the man.
