‎Harare, (New Ziana) — The Embassy of the State of Palestine in Zimbabwe has issued a scathing statement following leaked internal data from Israel’s Military Intelligence Directorate (Aman), accusing Israel of deliberately misleading the world about the scale of civilian deaths in Gaza and calling for urgent international accountability.

‎The statement, released by Ambassador Dr. Tamer Almassri, cites newly uncovered Israeli intelligence showing that 83 percent of those killed in Gaza are civilians, contradicting repeated claims by Israeli officials that the majority of fatalities were combatants linked to Hamas or Islamic Jihad.

‎“These revelations expose a deliberate campaign of misinformation by Israeli leaders, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi.

‎”The numbers they’ve touted, claiming 20,000 to 30,000 fighters killed, are not just inflated; they are fabrications based on unverifiable battlefield estimates,” said the ambassador.

‎He said the classified data from Aman not only discredits the official Israeli narrative but also suggests a “culture of deception” within the Israeli military, with field officers reportedly admitting to classifying civilians as “terrorists” after death to boost perceived success on the battlefield.

‎Almassri underscored that the civilian casualty rate in Gaza now ranks among the deadliest in modern warfare, adding that while wars in Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan saw civilian death rates between 10 percent and 28 percent, the figures coming out of Gaza approach and may even surpass the death ratios of historic atrocities such as Rwanda, Srebrenica, and Mariupol.

‎“This is not collateral damage. This is a deliberate outcome of a state policy geared towards mass destruction,” said Almassri.
‎The ambassador stressed that the intentional targeting of civilians including women, children, and journalists constitutes “a war crime of the highest order,” adding that the international community must no longer allow Israel to act with impunity.

‎He also condemned the Israeli military’s recent assault on the Nasser Hospital complex in Khan Younis and the assassination of five journalists in a single day, actions Palestine says were carried out under “direct political orders.”

‎“These were not battlefield misfires. They were calculated strikes.

‎ “And they expose the true nature of Israel’s military leadership, which continues to behave with impunity because of the world’s silence,” he said.
‎The Palestinian government said Almassri is now urging international bodies, including the United Nations and the International Criminal Court, to launch formal investigations and prosecutions against Israeli political and military leaders.

‎“The world will pay a heavy price for allowing this to continue.

‎“The normalization of civilian killings, the starvation of besieged populations, and the targeting of journalists cannot be tolerated under any circumstances,” he said.

‎The ambassador also characterized Israel not as a normal state, but as a “colonial entity” built on racist expansion, brutality, and forced displacement, accusing it of perpetuating “a cycle of genocide in Gaza” through supremacist ideology and military force.

‎“There will come a day when Israel’s leaders political, military, and intelligence will be forced to face justice for the enormous human cost of their policies.

‎”The world must act decisively. The time for double standards is over,” he said.
