Paupers’ burial for 31

Harare, (New Ziana) – Chitungwiza Central Hospital said on Monday it will soon conduct a paupers burial for 31 bodies
that have been unclaimed in its mortuary for over a year.
In a notice, the hospital said the bodies, some of which have been at its mortuary since July 2019, would be buried if they remain unclaimed in the next 21 days.
“The hospital is requesting relatives or members of the public of the dearly deceased persons to come forward and claim the bodies and give them a decent burial,” the hospital said.
According to the list, the identity of at least 19 of the bodies is unknown.
The mix of deceased include people from old people’s homes, destitutes and those suspected to have been murdered and are found in the streets as well as accident victims.
Those identified include 74 year old Kapunhumberi Mudiwanesu, Michael Rusike (60), Joji Chandiwana, (46), Victor Marapura (55), Elijah Mvuri, Smart Mukungwa, and 43-year old Charles Kalima.
Paidamoyo Govheya (22), Francisca Marongeka, Melody Dube Waterfalls Harare and Georgina Chawanda make up the list of deceased females.
