Hwange based Pezhuba Pachena Cultural Ensemble dance group stole the limelight with their energetic and captivating routines during the lobola day celebrations for popular socialite Wicknell Chivhayo in Marondera.The acclaimed Pezhuba Pachena traditional dance group, boasting four Chibuku Neshamwari Matabele-land North provincial titles, brought their energetic performance to the lavish traditional wedding cele-bration of Lucy Muteke and Wicknell Chivhayo.
Rising to the challenge Pezhuba Pachena traditional dance group took centre stage, mesmerising the au-dience with their captivating performance as the newly married couple Muteke and Chivhayo made their entrance into the marquee.
Bertha Phiri, a member of the renowned Pezhuba Pachena Cultural Ensemble Dance group, was over-joyed to have performed at the traditional wedding ceremony, describing the experience as a blessing.
“What an honour, we felt truly privileged. It was a memorable experience, and we’re thrilled to have been part of their joyous celebration, imagine being selected amongst all the traditional dance groups which are around the country, it’s indeed a marvel and it was a dream come true.”
“The year 2025 started on a low note but shows are now starting to come up. Just last week before go-ing to Marondera for the Chivhayo’s roora day, we were at a lodge at Hwange National Park performing for a group of tourists who had visited,” said Phiri.
The after party of the successful traditional wedding was ignited by a star studded lineup of artists fea-turing Jah Prayzah, Killer T, Enzo I shall and Travellers Band.
