Bulawayo, (New Ziana) — The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is appealing to members of the public for information that may assist identifying seven murder victims whose bodies are being held at mortuaries in Harare, Chitungwiza and Bindura.

In a statement on Wednesday, national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the victims were unidentified adults and a juvenile whose bodies were recovered at different locations between June last year and May this year.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is investigating cases involving unidentified murder victims and is appealing to members of the public for information which may assist in establishing their identities,” he said.

He said a man, estimated to be between 25 and 35 years old, was found dead along Baines Avenue in Harare on April 29 this year.

The man was wearing a brown, striped cream jersey and a blue t-shirt, and his body is being held at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals mortuary.

Another man, estimated to be about 30 years old, was found dead in Damafalls Phase 1, Ruwa, in April this year.

He was wearing black boxer shorts and his body is also at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals mortuary.

“At Sally Mugabe hospital mortuary there is a body of a female estimated to be between 24 and 27 years old, who was found dead at Pioneer cemetery in Mbare on September 23, 2025.

She was barefoot and wearing a maroon top and skirt.

The ZRP is also appealing for information to identify a male juvenile, estimated to be between 12 and 13 years old, who was found dead in a pumpkin field behind Zororo bar near the Mukuvisi River on October 11 last year.

“There is also a body of a man at Sally Mugabe hospital mortuary, estimated to be about 25 years old. He was found dead beside a durawall in a grassy area at the corner of Conald and Bell Streets in the Graniteside Industrial Area on July 5, 2025. He was wearing a khaki jacket, black trousers and white sneakers. At Chitungwiza hospital, there is a body of a man who is approximately 30 years old. His body was found dead along dust road in Muguta village in Epworth on June 14 last year. He was wearing a black Puma tracksuit, cream T-shirt, white shorts and black socks,” Comm Nyathi said.

The police spokesperson said they are also seeking information about a man who was found dead at a makeshift shack in a bushy area at Eddie Pfugari in Brookdale in Bindura.

“We are also seeking information about a man who was found dead at a makeshift shacky in a bushy area at Eddie Pfugari Properties in Brookadale in Bindura on May 26,2026 and his body is being held at Parirenyatwa hospital,” said Nyathi.

He appealed to anyone with information that could assist in identifying the victims to approach the nearest police station.

“Establishing the identities of the victims would assist investigations and enable their families to be located and informed,” he said.
