THE battle of the league title remains between TelOne Chinhoyi and The Place Darts
clubs, with the recent results proving that TelOne Chinhoyi are currently in control after
winning yet another game against ZPC Kariba by 28-11 during the weekend.
TelOne are unbeaten in the nine games they have played so far and have accumulated
260 legs aggregate with 27 points in the bag.
Collen Mukucha and Norman Mudimu won their six legs, helping their team to cement
the lead.
The Place Darts club is trailing the log leaders with a game in hand. They have also
maintained a clean record of eight games played so far. Their emphatic win 36-3
against CUT staff put them closer to TelOne Chinhoyi Darts club. They now have 218
legs collected and are on 24 points.
Mudzingwa Mpedzisi also joined the above 100 checkout players after closing a 103
check out winning his game with his three darts. Their 180 tally is one of the best so far
with Debrahim Shumba adding another one during the weekend to put them on 11 while
ZETDC Chinhoyi who overtook Delta Chinhoyi on third position increased their tally to
eight, after Tawanda Hodzi hit one and Chenjerai Chokoza hit two.
ZETDC Chinhoyi met Muriel Mine Darts at Muriel Mine in Mutorashanga. They beat
them 29-10 to take their wins to five games, collecting 15 points and 158 leg aggregate.
This game also saw Tawanda Hodzi joining Shepherd Chiroza on few darts used to
close the 501 game. He used 12 darts. Nathaniel Phiri also closed one of his games
113 checkout.
Delta Chinhoyi are now on fourth position with 12 points and 146 leg aggregate. They
did not play this past weekend.
Nogg Inn Darts team are on fifth position, having rested during the weekend. While
Matereke Darts club played against Super Bulls Darts in Brundish, they won 21-18,
securing coveted three points.
They are inferior to Nogg Inn because of a game in hand and a five leg aggregate
difference.
Muriel Mine Darts moved to seventh position after gaining 10 legs from the game they
played against ZETDC Chinhoyi, which they lost. However, this enabled them to
overtake Aryshire Mine Darts, who remained on six points and 93 leg aggregate after a
dormant weekend.
Super Bulls Darts team remained on ninth position but managed to increase their leg
aggregate to 103 when they played against Matereke Darts. The game also saw
"Kapaipi" Phiri hit his first 180 increasing Super Bulls Darts 180 tally to two.
ZPC Kariba Darts club have been stuck on 10th position for a while now. They played
five games out of the possible nine games and have won one game and lost four
games.
The students are still on semester break having played three games before the break
and remain on 11th position.
Chinhoyi University of Technology staff have fulfilled five games and have accumulated
24 legs in total. Their spirits remain high, especially the ladies players, Nancy
Muchacha, Alice Mashonganyika and Bondo. However, the expectation is that other
players emulate the spirit of fulfilling games shown by the trio during the weekend.
The battle continues with the shift now on selection of players to represent the province
at national Heroes’ Tournament to be held in Bulawayo from August 11 – 15, 2023.
The leagues in Chinhoyi and Kadoma will select players who will contest for the few
places at the Provincial trials scheduled at the end of month at CAM Sports Club in
Kadoma.
