President Mnangagwa commends Zimbabweans for ingenuity and growth mindsets

Bulawayo (New Ziana) President Mnangagwa has commended Zimbabweans for being ingenious and having growth mindsets to develop their country using locally available resources.

He was speaking after touring various stands at the ongoing Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Bulawayo on Friday.

This year the theme of the fair, which was oversubscribed by both local and foreign exhibitors, is “Innovation: The Catalyst for Industrialisation and Trade.

A total of 466 direct exhibitors are participating, 25 of whom are from 21 foreign countries.

“So far what the ZITF board chairman has shown me around the fair, I can say I was extremely impressed and proud that this year the products being exhibited show a trajectory of growth in terms of both quality and volume and variety.

“Our people Zimbabweans have embraced the philosophy yekuti nyika inovakwa nevenee vayo/ilizwe lakhiwa ngabanilazi balo,igotongwa nevene vayo (the country is built and ruled by its people). All the stands I toured Zimbabweans are very proud and exhibiting the products they made using locally available resources.”

The stands that President Mnangagwa toured include the European Union (EU), the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ), the livestock section, the Ministry ofbHigher and Tertiary Education, Young Women in Business, Zanu PF, Net One, the Ministry of Health and Child Care and Air Tanzania.

President Mnangagwa also toured the China Pavillion, South Korea, Hot Grill, Office of the President and Cabinet and AFC Bank.

He was accompanied by Ministers Mangaliso Ndlovu of Industry and Commerce and Fredrick Shava of Foreign Affairs, and ZITF board chairperson Busisa Moyo.

Kenyan President William Ruto will officially open the ZITF on Saturday.
