HARARE – President Emmerson Mnangagwa has handed over a brand-new 2026 Rolls-Royce Cullinan Facelift to Zion Christian Church (ZCC) leader His Grace Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi as part of a special birthday celebration.
The luxury vehicle, bearing the personalised registration plate “ZCC 1”, was presented to Bishop Mutendi as a birthday gift from businessman Sir Wicknell Chivhayo in recognition of the church leader’s decades of spiritual leadership and service to communities across Zimbabwe.
The occasion carried added significance as President Mnangagwa and Bishop Mutendi share the same birthday, making the handover a joint celebration of their special day.
In addition to the vehicle, Chivhayo pledged US$250 000 in cash to cater for fuel and Bishop Mutendi’s personal use.
The gesture places the spotlight on the longstanding role played by Bishop Mutendi in providing spiritual guidance and mobilising communities through the ZCC.
President Mnangagwa has repeatedly underscored the importance of Zimbabweans taking responsibility for the development of their country under the philosophy, “Nyika inovakwa, inotongwa, inonamatirwa nevene vayo.”
Bishop Mutendi has over the years been associated with prayer, spiritual guidance and community service, with the ZCC maintaining a significant presence across the country.
The birthday celebration brought together faith, leadership and a high-profile gesture of appreciation, with the Rolls-Royce becoming the centrepiece of the occasion.
