Gweru music producer DJ Emojie has released a riddim titled Mangwambi under his stable Cheese Villar Studio.
Real name Nyasha Zvidzai said the riddim features various artists from Midlands Province and beyond, who teamed up in a project to fight drug and substance abuse.
In an interview with The Times Arts and Entertainment DJ Emojie said the riddim featuring 11 artists, is a campaign against drug abuse so that the youths may find something to do off the streets.
‘This riddim features 11 artists and it was inspired by how youths are losing their lives due to drugs, so I did this project educating the youths the dangers of against drug abuse that’s why I engaged various artists across Midlands Province,” said the popular DJ.
Among various artists there is Uncle Caveman who has an amazing track on this riddim called Egyptian girl.
“Egyptian girl was inspired by the beauty of Zimbabwean queens and it made me sing appreciating them,” said Uncle Caveman.
Besides this riddim Dj Emojie is working on another called Dare Ramambo which gives him rural vibes and is emotiona.
‘I started music in 2013 and as an artist then I met this producer called Sir Potter from Eljay Records whom I approached to teach me more about music production and he showed me all the ropes as I worked at Elijay Studios as a music producer. Thereafter, I worked at Devine Star Records, then Millenium Records from there I opened Cheese Villah Studioz that’s how I started,” said Dj Emojie.
