MARONDERA- Zanu PF national political commissar Mike Bimha said party’s supporters must
reciprocate the recognition given to the province by President Emmerson Mnangagwa by voting for
him in their numbers so that he wins resoundingly in next year’s elections.
Several party members from Mashonaland East were given top and influential posts both in
Government and the party itself.
Bimha himself and his deputy Lillian Zemura are from the province and the same goes for Marble
Chinomona who is the national Womens League boss.
The province also boasts several Cabinet Ministers and Deputy Ministers that include Daniel Garwe,
Felix Mhona, Sekai Nzenza, Tino Machakaire and David Musabayana, among others.
Some were also assigned to head various Government arms.
When he addressed party members at a Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) meeting in
Marondera, Bimha said: "We want people who foster unity and put the interests of the party ahead
of selfish gains. Your efforts can never go unnoticed and our leaders in the party reward you in a
certain way.
I would like to thank President Mnangagwa for recognising us in Mashonaland East through
appointments in Government positions as well as in the party. This shows that he is proud of us as a
province and he knows that we are capable of delivering.
We have Ministers and deputy Ministers from this province who are working hard as the country
aim to achieve Vision 2030. Those who were given party tasks in other provinces have done their job
well and that is commendable."
Bimha challenged the province to work hard and defend all the Parliamentary seats won in the
previous national elections while also targeting to wrestle those that were won by the opposition in
next year's polls.
“Let us all work hard in our mobilisation drive so that we deliver five million votes for President
Mnangagwa. We have to encourage more members vote for Zanu PF in the next elections.
The opposition is trying to penetrate our rural strongholds and we should not allow that to happen.
We must defend our territory and try to snatch urban seats from them to cement our anticipated
resounding victory. That can only be achieved if we stop wasting our time, resources and effort on
squabbling over petty issues,” he said.
The meeting was attended by members of the Main Wing, Central Committee, National Consultative
Assembly (NCA), Youth, Women and War Veterans Leagues.
