GWANDA-For Ms Precious Masuku (22) a first time voter in Gwanda-Tshitaudze constituency the election process went smoothly for her, and has commended Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) for attending to the needs of People With Disability.
She told New Ziana after casting her vote at Gwanda High School polling station in Matebeleland South, today.
“They have helped me to go through the whole process and am content that my government of choice will cater for my school, health and economic growth of this country.
“I have encouraged my peers to do the same to come out and vote,” she said.
Across the town in Jacaranda surbub which falls under Gwanda North constituency Ms Florence Mokwena who is visualy-impared also said the process was smooth and peaceful.
“I am happy that I was allowed to enter into the polling station with my cousin whom I trust. I have done the process, I was given first preference.”
“I urge ZEC to print ballot papers in braille so that we can have 100% assurance that our votes are not tempered with,” said Mokwena.
After wobbling 150 metres from Gwanda’s Old people, Milton Moyo (91) said his government of choice will ensure that his wellbeing and health facilities are in good condition.
“Yes I wobbled all this distance to ensure that my vote counts. I was helped by polling agents to exercise my right, since am now aged. My government of choice should cater for my health facilities,” he said.
PWDs, aged and first time voters have commended the polls, Matabeleland South has 12 constituencies.
