SCOTTLAND returned to the top of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League table on Saturday after cruising to a 3-0 victory over Agama, reclaiming the advantage in an increasingly tight title race.

The victory took Scottland to 61 points after 29 matches, putting them one point clear of Hardrock, who moved to 60 points after a 1-0 win over the Highlanders in Bulawayo.

Both title contenders now have five league matches remaining as the battle for the championship enters its decisive stage.

Scottland made their intentions clear at Rufaro Stadium, as Mthokozisi Msebe opened the scoring in the 18th minute.

Msebe struck again six minutes later to complete his brace, giving Scottland a commanding 2-0 lead at the break.

The second goal was initially attributed to another player in some reports, but Scottland’s official match update confirms Msebe as the scorer of both the 18th- and 24th-minute goals.

Scottland continued to dominate after the interval, extending their advantage in the 56th minute when Campos found the back of the net for his first goal for the club, completing a comfortable 3-0 victory.

The result keeps Scottland firmly in control of their own title challenge, while Hardrock remain just a point behind with five games left for both teams.

Hardrock FC coach Kelvin Kaindu recorded his 11th successive win in all competitions, after the league’s leading goalscorer, Washington Navaya scored his 16th goal in the 1-0 win over Highlanders. It was sweet revenge for the Kwekwe miners after losing 1-0 in the reverse fixture at Chahwanda Stadium.

The Matchday 29 results also saw CAPS United claim a 1-0 win over MWOS, FC Platinum beat ZPC Kariba by the same scoreline, and Chicken Inn defeat Simba Bhora 2-1.

FC Hunters edged Manica Diamonds 1-0, while TelOne and Ngezi Platinum shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw.

With only five rounds remaining, the narrow margin at the summit leaves little room for error for either Scottland or Hardrock as the 2026 PSL championship race moves towards its climax.
