Harare, (New Ziana) -The Zimbabwe Republic Police and other security agencies are on high alert to prevent any planned violent protests that war veteran Blessed Geza and his allies are inciting people to carry out, Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr Jenfan Muswere said on Thursday.

The assurance follows an online address by Geza on Tuesday, in which he called for nationwide street protests on March 31 to demand the immediate resignation of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

In a statement, Muswere assured the nation that no violent demonstrations would be allowed to take place in the country.

“Zimbabweans are encouraged to ignore Geza’s delusional ramblings. His polemic and reactionary grandstanding are a clear misdirection of ambition,” he said.

“Law enforcement agents are on high alert, ready to deal with anyone attempting to cause unrest within the country. No amount of imagination will create disunity within the leadership, both in government and in the ruling ZANU-PF party,” he added.

Muswere criticized Geza, stating that neither he nor his team had the moral or legal authority to speak on behalf of anyone.

“They are divisionalists and factionalists bent on sowing seeds of division, but their efforts will not bear fruit. He is a fugitive from justice, and it won’t be long before his inflammatory statements are addressed,” he said.

“He is a self-serving individual falsely claiming to represent the veterans of the liberation struggle. His rants are nothing but hallucinations. Mr Geza and his partners in crime cannot rewrite Zimbabwe’s history,” he concluded.

Geza has since gone into hiding after the police classified him as a wanted person for allegedly inciting people to commit acts of violence and undermining the authority of the President
