Shot in the arm for Mberengwa Hospital

Share

MBERENGWA District Hospital recently received a boost in its endeavour to provide quality services
to its community following the commissioning of an ambulance.
The district hospital serves as a referral hospital for 37 Wards and through funding from Central
Government and other development partners, several projects are being implemented.
Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution in Midlands Owen Ncube was recently in the
district and toured the hospital’s laundry, theatre, mortuary and maternity wings.

"Quality and affordable health care services have been brought to communities as women no longer
travel long distances to access maternity health services, Minister Ncube said.
Minister Ncube said more clinics will be built and upgraded, while equipment and facilities will be
provided as a way of uplifting the marginalised areas and communities.
“This is another milestone achievement by the Second Republic as the country pursues a prosperous
and empowered upper middle-income society by 2030.

“The pro-people approach by the Government is to bring services closer to the people and it has
improved health and well-being in Mberengwa District in line with the National Development
trajectory to provide health for all by 2030; the Second Republic is upgrading all clinics and hospitals
to modern health care facilities, said Minister Ncube.
Mberengwa District has 10 vehicles including six ambulances and four service vehicles including from
mission hospitals.

The minister applauded Mimosa Mine for their major contribution in improving and modernising
Mberengwa District Hospital strengthening President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s call for public-private
partnerships and beneficial corporate social responsibility which leaves no one and no place behind.
