Six suspected robbers nabbed

Kwekwe (New Ziana) – Six suspected robbers have been arrested after breaking into a Kwekwe home and allegedly stealing several guns and jewellery.
Police in Midlands said the suspects allegedly broke into a Chicago suburb home in Kwekwe while the owners were away on holiday, and stole five guns, ammunition and jewellery.
But swift reaction by police, a day after, saw some of the suspected robbers nabbed, and all accounted for a few days later, in places as far as the capital, Harare.
All the five firearms and the ammunition were recovered after the arrests in Kwekwe and Harare.
Police spokesman Emmanuel Mahoko named the six suspects as Ali Awali Ali (33) of Amaveni, Kwekwe, Daniel Mubaiwa (43) of Denda Village, Chief Nyamaropa Mt Darwin, Tafadzwa Chitsiga (24) of Hatcliff, Harare, Gilbert Madhami (27), of Glen Norah C, Harare, Enerst Taruvinga (31), of Budiriro 2, Harare and Godknows Bushu (42) of Mbare, Harare.
They allegedly broke into the home of a prominent Kwekwe businessman, who was away on holiday at the time.
Among the things allegedly stolen were a Grand Power CANKT9 9mm, Beretta 0.22 mm, 9mm FN Pistol, four Iphone cell phones and an Apple IPad, two boxes full of jewellery which contained silver necklaces, gold rings, gold necklaces, gold and silver earrings, gold and silver bangles.
New Ziana
