CHINHOYI – GOLDEN Valley, CUMA Academy and Cam and Motor are set to face stiff
competition in the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) Mashonaland West Division Two B
this season.
The three Kadoma-based teams need to work extra hard to find a solution for their return to
Northern Region Division One League after they were relegated from the league last season.
Mashonaland West D2B League promotes one team into Division One League, and with this
kind of set up, it will take three seasons for one of the three teams to return to top flight soccer,
while the other one will need two seasons, that is, if there is no other team that wins the
championship during these times.
The Cuthbert Malajila-owned CUMA Academy and Golden Valley were using Rimuka Stadium
as their home ground.
Golden Valley is most likely to return to their own home ground in Chakari since Rimuka
Stadium is already crowded with other Division Two clubs which include Kadoma City, the
owners of the stadium.

Cam and Motor play its home games at Eiffel Flats Stadium and will be sharing the ground with
Eiffel Flats FC, owned by veteran coach Friday Phiri.
A ZIFA official, who requested anonymity, said the three clubs contributed to each other’s
downfall as they were mainly focusing on each other and could have just played to avoid
relegation.
He noted that supporters hated each other’s teams to an extent of supporting visiting teams,
forgetting that they were the community who would be affected when all their teams were
relegated.
Golden Valley spent 15 years in the Division One League, while Cam and Motor played for two
seasons and CUMA Academy only played for one season.
CUMA Academy and Come Again were promoted together after they was no single winner in
the field and ZIFA Mashonaland West negotiated for an extra slot for them to be promoted
together.
Come Again survived relegation and will be the only team in the Kadoma radius which will be
playing in Division One League.

Come Again is based 12km away from Kadoma City. They use Martin Spur Stadium as their
home ground but, whenever they played against CUMA Academy the local derby usually turned
violent.
