GOROMONZI — Three family members died on Friday, October 2, after allegedly inhaling carbon monoxide fumes from a charcoal brazier inside their home.

The incident occurred in Tafirenyika Village, under Headman Chinyika in Chief Chikwaka’s area of Goromonzi.

The deceased have been identified as Thulani Richard Mugugu, 50, Kelly Phiri, 12, and Allison Mugugu, aged one year and nine months.

According to reports, the four occupants retired to bed at about 9 p.m. in a one-roomed house, leaving the charcoal brazier burning to provide warmth.
