RENOWNED Zimdancehall musician Obey Makambureyi, popularly known as Tocky Vibes, has stunned the local music industry by releasing four studio albums simultaneously, making Friday one of the biggest single-day releases by a Zimbabwean artist.
The prolific musician released Tomonyongo, Bestie, Changamire, and Nyabhagu on Friday, September 18, 2026, unleashing a massive body of new material across digital platforms.
The unprecedented release has already sparked debate among music followers, with the million-dollar question being: What is the logic behind releasing four albums on the same day?
Tocky Vibes, who has built a reputation for maintaining an exceptionally high studio output, has previously experimented with large-scale releases.
In 2024, he released Haunhonge Nyama, a project with more than 50 tracks, and followed it up in 2025 with the multi-volume Mashangurapata project.
The latest four-album release therefore appears to continue a strategy that has become synonymous with the artist—putting out music in unusually large quantities rather than following the conventional album-release cycle.
