KWEKWE – Transformers Gospel Singers is set to unveil their new album titled ‘Tinaye Jesu’ on February 22 in Mbizo, Kwekwe.
Tinaye Jesu will be the group’s fourth album, which consists of 10 tracks.
The group believes that the latest edition will be a game-changer, touching hearts of believers and non-believers.
Petros Gavai, the administrator of the group said the forthcoming album will feature two pastors as guest singers.
“Among the 10 tracks, three of them featured Reverend Douglas Mukoki of Kwekwe on one song and Reverend Chidimuro on two songs.
He further explained the message behind the album.
“It serves as a reminder that we have Jesus in every aspect of life. In everything that we do even behind other people’s backs, Jesus is always there watching us.
“The album is not about us bragging about having Jesus but it’s a reminder to everyone that you have Jesus in everything that you do,” said Gavai adding that the group wants to raise funds to buy a vehicle as they have had challenges with transport issues.
Transformers Gospel Singers is a group that was formed in 2020 by members of the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe in Kwekwe and Shurugwi, originally with nine members but has grown to 16.
The group comprises individuals who are survivors of drug addiction from the local community, now using their talents to spread hope and inspiration.
Their first album Nekuti muri Mwari was released in 2020, and had seven tracks with ‘Mwari Vakanaka’ as the hit song.
Mukuzara Kwenguva was their second album done in 2022, with eight tracks. ‘Nguva yaMwari was the hit song. Last year, they released their third album Tiriparwendo which consisted of six tracks with ‘Humambo’ as the hit song.
Transformers Gospel Singers is looking forward to attracting more youths from the community especially those influenced by drugs to join their group and discover their talents.
The members of the group are not only encouraged to discover their talents through music but the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe is also assisting them with money for studies for them to explore more things in their lives.
The gospel group’s committee comprises five members who are Benjamin Komichi the leader, Tsungai Mapolisa the treasurer, Clifford Hove the secretary, Patrick Sithole the organizing secretary and John Disemba the group manager.
