Gweru (New Ziana) – In a shocking incident, which has left residents shell-shocked, two children died mysteriously during a church service in Vungu Rural district last weekend.

Midlands police spokeperson Inspector Joel Goko confirmed the incident at the Seventh day Adventist Church, Riverdale Assembly, and said investigations were in progress.

“We are still investigating this mysterious incident that left the community in panic and shock,” he said.

According to witnesses, six children started collapsing one after the another, with froth coming out of their mouths, resulting in the death of two on the spot.

The other four children were taken to Gweru Provincial Hospital.
These congregants held their services violating the Covid-19 lockdown regulations.
